Catal Hoyuk

Why is Catal Hoyuk an important archaeological find?
Catal Hoyuk is itself big and covers 23 acres but its importance in the historic and archeological studies is even bigger. Catal Hoyuk is was one of the largest cities or towns in the Neolithic period, it covered 23 acres ( 27 football fields) and had 1000 homes or even more. It also showed signs of religion and places of worship, historians know this because religious artifacts were found in certain buildings supposedly temples. The most important fact is the fact that it is one of the most important developments in permanent settlement, it is important because it shows that early humans settled in very large groups and slowly formed cities. Building a city this large was a sign of development towards farming agriculture and permanent settlements.

  1. I really think your post is very good, and I found it very informative. One things I found that was done really well is the fact that you almost introduce us to Catal Huyuk, because if someone does not know what Catal Huyuk is this post would give them a good visual. That being said one thing you are missing is where Catal Huyuk is. I think you pretty much answered the question but maybe you could have added more detail to the reasons why Catal Huyuk is a important arcaeological find or added more reasons. All in all it was a very good post.
    Well Done,
