What did you learn?
I must say that I learned a lot of things, the topic that I learned about the most is probably archeology. We had one small dig where we went to the high-school. At the dig we didn’t find anything special, but we did gain special knowledge about how to properly use all of the tools and how to take proper field notes and make proper labels. We also learned a lot about the Footsteps at Laetoli this was really interesting because we learned something about the early humans. We also focused a lot on learning what the job of an archeologist is and how they use different tools to help themselves.
What did you find most interesting?
The most interesting thing we did in this unit was the archeological dig. I thought that it was interesting because I always wanted to experience the thrill of digging out a bone or a pottery shard. And when I found the first little coin it was as If I had found a huge golden cup. I just thought that it was a great idea and it worked well.
What learning skills did you use and how?
I used the my research skills when I needed to look up any terms or anything that I want clear about. I also used all of the knowledge I had about archeology and other topics to try and stay in all of the class discussions that were going on. Finally I used everything that we learnt in class in order to try and make my dig as professional as possible.
What did you learn about yourself?
I learnt that I am surprisingly good at researching abut certain topics. I also uncovered a hidden intrest in humanities especially in ancient mysteries like Stonehenge.
